SCOPE Program

SCOPE (Securing Career Opportunities and Professional Employment) is a unique professional development program providing career and professional development support services to Australia's professional dance, physical theatre and circus sectors.

SCOPE for Artists, is funded by Australia Council for the Arts. Subject to future funding, SCOPE career development services will be extended in:
  • 2010/2011 to musicians (instrumental/orchestral/symphony), performance writers, (theatre, film and television) and directors (film and television)
  • 2011/2012 to vocalists (classical and contemporary), actors (theatre & film and television) and directors (theatre).
  • 2012/2013 to non- performance artists working in technical arts, visual arts and literature.

A helpful resource of the program is the SCOPE “Artists domain” Intranet

SCOPE “Artists domain” Intranet is your place to network, share ideas and promote your work. A place to upload your images, film and sound recordings, to be kept up to date with industry professional development and employment opportunities.

The SCOPE Intranet is a networking and information resource available only to current participants of SCOPE for Artists.

SCOPE Services

the SCOPE program is tailored to meet individual needs and provide a range of services, including:

  • individual assessment and career counselling
  • development of a career and professional development action plan
  • access to scholarships for personal and professional development courses (subject to application and assessment following acceptance as a program participant)
  • employment preparation
  • mentoring
  • business and industry networking and referrals
  • access to national network of career professionals
  • transition planning and career development support.
SCOPE News

2009/2010 SCOPE Applications

Applications for the 2009/2010 SCOPE program are closed, and the program year completed.

In keeping with industry practice, the SCOPE program year will be moving to a January/December calendar year. Subject to funding, any call for applications will take place approximately October/November 2010.

Artists who have contacted SCOPE via this web site will be contacted using the details they provided to advise of program developments and changes. Artists are asked to remember the level of SCOPE services, provided free of charge to artists, is determined by the degree of funding we are able to secure.
